Work Progresses On The Dalles East Gateway
This photo from Jim Schwinof, City of The Dalles, shows how work is progressing on the east end of downtown The Dalles. According to Jim, more concrete coping and curbing are being installed . Asphalt is in the process of being placed on north Taylor and the new roundabout roadway and hopefully will be completed, except the finish layer, this week. The finish layer will wait until the asphalt plants re-open in the spring. Flagging will continue through Friday and then the travel lanes will remain open, unrestricted, until sometime after the first of the year.
Brewery Grade will receive temporary asphalt tomorrow in preparation to open late Friday, and if the weather permits, temporary striping will be placed on Brewery Grade and at the center of the existing travel lanes through the work zone, on Friday. After this week, coping of the north wall will continue along with some minor grading for sidewalk installation.
